Warts are very common, caused by infection of the skin with Human Papilloma Virus. There are many different ways warts can look, and they can occur anywhere on the body, though hands, feet, legs, genitals and face seem to be the most common areas. They can also multiply and spread from one area to another, or from one person to another, over time.
There are many ways to treat warts, including chemicals applied or injected in the office, chemicals applied at home, liquid nitrogen therapy, lasers and other destructive techniques. Generally one treatment, no matter what modality is selected, will not be enough to cure your warts unless they are caught very early and treated when they are very small. As such, follow up visits will likely be necessary.
